Most affordable SUV - Dacia Duster sets world record

GENEVA, Switzerland -- The mid-sized Dacia Duster 4×4 (measuring in at 4.31m long x 1.82m wide) has been unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show and will be available in 4×2 (for $16,200 or 11,900 Euros) and 4×4 specification (for $18,390 or 13,900 Euros) - setting the new world record for the Most affordable SUV.

Dacia Duster, the world's Most affordable SUV, is available with a choice of engines that include one petrol (1.6-litre / 82kW) and two diesel units (1.6-litre / 63kW & 1.6-litre / 82kW).
The diesel versions emit from 135g of CO2/km (for the 4×2 version) and from 145g of CO2/km in the case of the 4×4 version.

Dacia Duster will be launched in 2012 in the UK

Renault confirmed the debut of Dacia in the United Kingdom market in 2012. The Renault officials made this announce at the Geneva Motor Show and completed that Duster will be the first Romanian car present in the English market.

The Renault officials didn’t give any details abut the price of Duster in the UK, and have not announced which models will present in the English market after Duster. The French suggested a potential launch of Logan and Sandero in the UK market, but the presence of the two appreciate models has not been confirmed officially.

The debut of Dacia brand in the UK market has been postponed several times in recent years due to unfavorable exchange ratio between the euro and the pound. The UK Division Director of Renault, Roland Bouchara, said that the quality/price ratio of Dacia models will be attractive to UK customers.

Dacia Duster 4x4: The Romanian with the U.S. model code

Dacia, in those days presented a completely new model with the serial code Duster, which Romanians are described as a robust, reliable and 'easy-to-use'.
